The justice reform in Croatia is fully financed by a World Bank loan, in the payment of which the Dutch Government is taking part via a €1-million Deed of Donation. As part of the Project’s implementation, €200,000 will cover its preparation, while the remaining €800,000 are to be used to conduct the key technical assistance activities, as soon the Project is adopted. The Dutch Government and World Bank intend to sign the Agreement on the Implementation of the Project by end-2008.
Minister Jandroković thanked the Dutch Government for the assistance and participation in said Project, pointing out the Croatian Government’s continuous engagement in the reforms aimed at meeting the EU criteria on the rule of law and protection of the fundamental human rights.
He said that today’s ceremonial signing of the Letter of Intent marks the beginning of a three-way co-operation on the Project and is a testimony to the exceptionally good relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which will certainly aid a successful completion of the justice reform in Croatia.
