The module was held as part of the second day of the conference on “Prospects for South Eastern Europe: Germany, Austria and the US in Dialogue with the Region’s Leaders”.

Expressing satisfaction that the European and transatlantic partners were once again directing their attention to Europe’s southeast, Minister Jandroković commended the incentives such as liberalizing the visa regime for Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the recent decision on forwarding to the European Commission Serbia’s application for the EU membership.

The minister also remarked on the recent European Commission’s optimistic Progress Reports, describing the one on Croatia as the most positive so far, saying he was convinced it was the last such report on Croatia’s road to the EU.

In regard to Croatia’s pending EU membership, Minister Jandroković said it was a message to the countries of South Eastern Europe that the EU membership, providing that all of the criteria are met, was possible, and that the partners’ support was unquestionable. Hence, Croatia remains dedicated in continuing the transfer of its experiences to the region’s countries, as well as in its strong support for their Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
