Said tripartite agreement allows for five scholarship students a year for the next three years to be sent to one-year postgraduate multidisciplinary European studies at the University of Sussex.

Minister Jandroković said that thanks to the Croatian Government’s scholarships program for one-year postgraduate European studies abroad, 250 young experts had been educated since 1998. After the mandatory three-year employment in the state administration, most of them have remained working there, some of them in leading positions, this contributing to Croatia’s EU accession.

The Croatian Government’s dedication to the strengthening of the administrative capacities in order to prepare for the EU membership, as well as to the efficient functioning as a future member, is also evidenced by the continued implementation of the program despite budgetary limitations, added the Minister. Accordingly, there was a competition for 2010/2011 one-year postgraduate European studies abroad, open for Croatian state officials till March 28th 2010.

Minister Jandroković thanked the British partners for the political support for Croatia along its way to the EU membership, as well as for the comprehensive technical assistance in the preparation of Croatia’s public administration. That support also includes the co-financing of said Croatian Government’s program, owing to which 100 scholarship students completed postgraduate studies at prestigious British universities, 75 of which at the University of Sussex in Brighton.
