The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs welcomes the signing of the Agreement on the Settlement of Crisis in Ukraine and is convinced that its elements will be implemented within the set deadlines

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs welcomes the signing of the Agreement on the Settlement of Crisis in Ukraine and is convinced that its elements will be implemented within the set deadlines.

This Agreement is an important step forward towards ending the violence and achieving stability so that a lasting political solution could be sought institutionally for the wellbeing of Ukraine and its people.

We applaud all the relevant parties who have contributed to finding a compromise and put forth exceptional effort to reach the Agreement, from representatives of other countries and international institutions to President Yanukovych and opposition representatives. We consider extremely important the role of the foreign ministers of Poland, Germany and France, as well as the role of Verkhovna Rada, whose decision to withdraw police from the streets and ban the use of firearms has contributed to the cooling down of the situation and return to an institutional solution to the crisis.

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs once again expressed regret and condolences over the dead and wounded in Kiev.
