MFEA, French embassy sign agreement on French language courses

State Secretary for Political Affairs Zdravka Bušić and French Ambassador to Croatia Philippe Meunier 10 January 2019 signed a partnership agreement on joint financing of French language courses for the employees of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs

State Secretary for Political Affairs Zdravka Bušić and French Ambassador to Croatia Philippe Meunier 10 January 2019 signed a partnership agreement on joint financing of French language courses for the employees of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in 2019.

The agreement will lead to more French-speaking Croatian diplomats, which is especially important ahead of Croatia’s Council of the EU presidency in the first half of 2020. The French embassy’s support for the project reflects the two countries’ excellent bilateral cooperation and understanding, further underscoring the Croatia-France Strategic Partnership established in 2010.

The French courses will be held at the Alliance Française Zagreb and represent the continuation of the long-standing successful cooperation between Croatia and the Francophonie regarding French language courses for Croatia’s state administration.

French is the official language of the UN, NATO and EU, as well as the fifth most commonly used language in the world.
