Ambassador Vukićević expressed regret over the incidents and informed the Croatian side that the relevant Serbian services had already apprehended six of the assailants. He also said that an investigation was ongoing and that the Croatian side would be informed about its findings in a timely fashion.

Both sides agreed that incidents like these did not contribute to the strengthening of the two countries’ relations. Croatia requested that Serbia step up security during the forthcoming matches, expected to be attended by a large number of Croatian fans.
