MFEA considers Crimea referendum illegitimate

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs fully supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and considers the organisation of the referendum on Crimean territory directed at disrupting Ukraine's territorial integrity and the secession of parts of its territory illegitimate.

The Republic of Croatia calls for defusing the conflict, with full respect for all norms of international law, the UN Charter, the Helsinki Accords and the treaties signed.

Members of all ethnic groups in Crimea should be provided full protection of their civil and minority rights, without bringing into question Ukraine's territorial integrity.

As a member of the EU, Croatia considers Ukraine a place of cooperation founded on European values as well as a place where it is possible to further develop the partner relations between the EU and the Russian Federation.
