MFAEI Minister Grabar-Kitarović received letter from SCG Foreign Minister Vlahović
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received today, 23 May 2005, a letter from Montenegrin Foreign Minister Miodrag Vlahović that reads
By expressing a firm conviction that our joint future cannot be built on apologetics of crimes and criminals, Montenegro distances itself from the statement of the Serbia and Montenegro Foreign Minister Vuk Drašković, and condemns any attempt to change and rewrite undisputable facts from the past.
Dear Madame Minister,
Tragic events and things that happened during the war on the territory of former Yugoslavia commit us to turn to the future, and work with dedication on the process of making peace, and establishing communication and cooperation between our nations and countries. This is why Montenegro is fully committed to strengthening good neighbourly relations and to the development of overall cooperation with all the countries in the region, especially Croatia, our close neighbour.
In that sense, I would like to say I hope for and would be pleased with your being our guest at the Ministerial Conference, taking place in Cetinje, on June 6 and 7, which will mark the end of Montenegro's presiding over the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative. I am sure this would present one more chance for us to demonstrate the joint direction and the attachment of our countries to the European integrations and to values of contemporary democracies."
