MFAEI host meeting with leading Finnish media houses’ editors and journalists

The Finnish editors and journalists were familiarised with the course of Croatia’s EU and NATO accession processes, as well as with the other activities being conducted in the foreign-policy field, eg. Croatia’s participation in the activities of the UN Security Council

The Finnish editors and journalists were familiarised with the course of Croatia’s EU and NATO accession processes, as well as with the other activities being conducted in the foreign-policy field, eg. Croatia’s participation in the activities of the UN Security Council. The Croatian side pointed out that the EU negotiations are speeding along, with the aim of meeting the deadlines and completing the negotiations by fall 2009. As regards Croatia’s NATO accession, the Finns were informed about the activities Croatia is carrying out in order to become a full NATO member at its next summit.

The meeting also discussed the state of affairs in the region, with Mr. Vodopija pointing out that Croatia would be glad to transfer its experience to other countries on their way towards the Euro-Atlantic integration.

During their visit, the Finnish editors and journalists will also visit other Croatian state and economic institutions, as well as the representation offices of the Croatian media.
