A meeting of the foreign ministers of the Berlin Process was held 11-12 April 2019 in Warsaw, hosted by Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz. The Croatian delegation was led by State Secretary for European Affairs Andreja Metelko-Zgombić. The Berlin Process was launched in 2014 with the aim of supporting the EU enlargement onto six Western Balkans countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia.

During the first day’s working dinner, hosted by Polish President Andrej Duda, the ministers discussed the status of the Western Balkans youth as well as the prospects and challenges they face. The second day saw the ministers discussing bilateral issues in the relations among the Western Balkans countries and the strengthening of regional cooperation. As the host of this year’s Berlin Process summit scheduled for 5 July in Poznan, Poland presented the meeting’s agenda and provisional goals. The ministers also exchanged views in the key goals to be attained in the Western Balkans region, as well as the ideas and suggestions regarding preparations for the summit.
