Launching of two-day international seminar entitled “European Sustainable Development Strategies: Growth, Environment and Innovation”

The seminar was organized as part of the Annual Activities Program of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration with the International Organization of La Francophonie for 2010

The seminar was prepared in cooperation with the Embassy of the French Republic in the Republic of Croatia, whose representatives also took part in the opening of the first international francophone diplomatic seminar of this kind. It also represents a special contribution to the marking of the International Day of La Francophonie, March 20th.

The seminar’s goal is to analyze the European Union’s environment and sustainable development strategies, as well as to gain insight into the evolution of the issues concerning climate and the environment. Case studies should ensure a better understanding of the relevant policies and the problems of their implementation, both on the EU and national levels.

The lecturer is Tancrède Voituriez, the Program Manager for Global Governance at the Paris Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) and an associate of the Strasbourg European Studies Center, while the seminar itself is designed for the Croatian diplomats and civil servants whose work activities pertain to said area.

The seminar is being held in French, and among its 30 attendees, seven are from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, Moldova, and Romania.
