Končar, Gredelj, in cooperation with Croatian Embassy in Sofia, present Zagreb tram to Bulgarian market

The Zagreb tram caused quite a media sensation on the streets of Sofia even before the official promotion. Since last week, a test vehicle has been running on two of the city’s busiest routes, while a picture of the Zagreb tram was featured in all of the daily newspaper. The test vehicle will remain in Sofia for a month, while a public procurement invitation for the first 25 vehicles is expected to be made within the next two weeks.

The preparations for this project began as early as May, when Končar and the City of Zagreb were visited by the delegation of the City of Sofia, prompted by the Croatian Embassy to the Republic of Bulgaria, and signed a technical cooperation agreement with Končar. The Embassy in Sofia participated daily in other activities too: from the initial contacts, to gathering technical date and organizing expert meetings.
