Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 18 March held talks with NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Philip Breedlove. Klisović and Breedlove discussed the current situation in Ukraine and its impact on the security in that part of Europe and beyond. They also discussed the future role of NATO and Croatia in Afghanistan, notably the challenges of planning NATO’s future mission in that country. The two officials also talked about the transport of chemical weapons from Syria and the situation in Southeast Europe, underlining the importance Croatia places on NATO enlargement. General Breedlove thanked Croatia for its constructive contribution to NATO’s goals and activities.
