Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Dubravka Plejić Marković 14 April met with an Indonesian delegation for interreligious affairs headed by H. Abdul Djamil, Chief Director for the Development of Islamic Community at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, which also included representatives of the major religious communities in Indonesia.

The interlocutors agreed that interreligious dialogue offered a possibility for spreading cooperation between countries as well as a model for spreading tolerance among religious communities and respecting religious, minority and human rights in general.

Also held was the first bilateral interreligious meeting between the Indonesian delegation and Croatian representatives in charge of religious affairs. The meeting discussed the aspects of protecting and regulating religious community rights in Croatia and Indonesia, as well as cooperation between different religious communities both in the bilateral sense and within multilateral organizations and forums.

The Indonesian interreligious delegation is staying in Croatia 12-16 April and will meet with representatives of state bodies dealing with religious matters as well as with President Ivo Josipović.
