Inaugural visit from Algerian ambassador

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Thursday met with the incoming ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Nakhla Kechacha.
 
The two officials underscored friendly relations between Croatia and Algeria, expressing interest in advancing cooperation in the Mediterranean and North Africa. Grlić Radman highlighted the importance of the geopolitical and strategic position of Algeria within North Africa. Kechacha reflected on Croatia’s important role in the Mediterranean as a country Algeria considers a gateway to Europe and the EU.
 
It was underlined that since Grlić Radman’s official visit to Algeria in December 2021, progress had been achieved in bilateral relations and the development of bilateral legal framework. Additional possibilities for advancing cooperation the two countries see in the economic sector, notably tourism, shipbuilding and energy.
 
Grlić Radman welcomed Kechacha, wishing her success during her term in Croatia.
