First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić is to attend a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg on Monday

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić is to attend a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg on Monday. Croatia organized a working breakfast of “Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina” to be held ahead of the meeting. It is expected to be attended by 20 EU foreign ministers as well as BiH Presidency chairman and foreign minister. As Pusić said in Sarajevo on Wednesday: “Such a response confirms that there is an assessment that BiH success is possible, which is an important message for the future.”

The FAC meeting will discuss relations between the EU and Latin America and Caribbean states with a view to preparing for the EU-CELAC summit in June. High Representative Federica Mogherini will report on re-examining the EU Security Strategy and discuss the recent events in Libya and Yemen. After the meeting, the ministers will hold talks with their counterparts from the Eastern Partnership countries on preparations for the Eastern Partnership summit in May in Riga.

Pusić is also to attend a meeting of the General Affairs Council the following day, also in Luxembourg. The meeting will discuss priorities in the EU Commission’s proposal for an inter-institutional agreement on creating a better legislature and mark the 10th anniversary of Bulgaria and Romania’s accession treaty. One of the topics will also be “unfreezing” of BiH Stabilization and Association Agreement.
