Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusić 25 July 2012 received the incoming Moroccan Ambassador to Croatia, H. E. Moulay Abbes El Kadiri

Pusić welcomed El Kadiri and expressed satisfaction over the upcoming opening of the first residential Moroccan embassy in Zagreb. The two officials highlighted the good political relations between their countries and voiced interest in intensifying the economic cooperation.

El Kadiri said Morocco was interested in cooperating with Croatia in all the areas, especially since Croatia is about to become a full-fledged EU member, which is one of the reasons Morocco is opening a residential embassy in Zagreb. The ambassador congratulated Croatia on successfully closing the negotiations and implementing the reforms, once again inviting Pusić to visit Morocco. He pointed out construction, shipbuilding and tourism as potential areas of cooperation.

Pusić said she was pleased the Moroccan foreign minister attended the 2012 Croatia Summit, with whom she discussed the practical modalities of future partnership cooperation and expressed Croatia’s readiness to share with Morocco and other countries of the Southern Mediterranean its transition and state-building experiences. She also underscored Morocco’s stabilizing role in the region.
