Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman 29 February 2020 visited the State of Hesse, where he attended the “Večernjakova domovnica” awards ceremony

Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman 29 February 2020 visited the State of Hesse, where he attended the “Večernjakova domovnica” awards ceremony.

Addressing the event, Grlić Radman thanked the organizer, Večernji list daily, for stimulating excellence and recognizing the importance of sports, music and acting for the promotion of Croatia. “Croatian sportspeople and musicians contribute to Croatia’s image abroad just as much as scientists, distinguished individuals, associations and clubs, all of whom are active participants in the public life of countries they live in. You are the key link between the Croatian homeland and diaspora, you carry in your hearts the love for our tradition, religion, culture, customs and homeland,” the minister said.

The Croatian EU presidency is an opportunity to present Croatia to the European public as a country steeped in natural, scientific, cultural and spiritual heritage, as well as to underline our contribution to civilizational and sport achievements.

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs is the sponsor of this year’s, 14th overall, “Večernjakova domovnica” awards ceremony. Awards are presented to the most distinguished Croats, who through their work and achievements promote Croatia’s reputation abroad.
