FM Stier attends Foreign Affairs Council

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier 12 December attended a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Brussels.

Ahead of the meeting, Stier was present at the signing of the EU-Cuba Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement. The meeting started off with a discussion on the EU-Africa relations, followed by talks on the situation in Congo and Syria. In view of the European Council meeting scheduled for 15 December, the ministers also discussed the migration issue, with a special emphasis on the implementation of the Valletta Action Plan. Afterwards, the ministers held informal talks with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and later signed the agreement on setting up an EU trust fund for Colombia.
