Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 15 May 2018 received on inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Croatia seated in Budapest, Vilmars Heninš.

The two officials expressed satisfaction with the friendly relations between Croatia and Latvia, which are founded on mutual early recognition and understanding as well as Latvia’s support for Croatia’s EU and NATO path. The talks focused on the possibilities of stronger bilateral connectedness in the context of the Croatian foreign minister’s upcoming visit to Latvia, notably in the area of economy and tourism, as well as Croatia’s preparations for Council of Europe chairmanship and the exchange of experiences regarding Croatia’s entering Schengen, OECD and the euro area.
