August the 5^th is the day when we commemorate all those who gave their lives in the Homeland War as well as all those who paid great sacrifice at home and abroad so that Croatia could be a free and sovereign country. The unity during the Homeland War can serve us as an inspiration for continued engagement and rising up to the challenges that lie ahead of the Croatian diplomacy and society as a whole.

I congratulate you the Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of Croatian Defenders as well as the 22^nd anniversary of Operation Storm.
