FM participates in round table on EU enlargement at MSC

Foreign and European Minister Gordan Grlić Radman 14 February 2020 participated in a round table on “Coordinate, Cooperate, Consolidate: Moving the Western Balkans Forward”, held on the margins of the Munich Security Conference (MSC). The minister addressed the political and security challenges in Southeast European countries as well as the importance of their Euro-Atlantic integration.

Grlić Radman underscored the unquestionable importance of the enlargement policy for the peace and stability of the European continent. This is precisely the reason why Zagreb will host an EU-Western Balkans summit in May during the Croatian presidency, which should offer a realistic perspective of relations in the decade ahead.

On the fringes of MSC, Grlić Radman held bilateral talks with his Georgian and Armenian counterparts, David Zalkaliani and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, on the Eastern Partnership summit scheduled for June. The talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif focused on the EU-Iran relations and the nuclear deal.

In addition, Grlić Radman met with his Slovakian counterpart Miroslav Lajčak. The two officials discussed the Croatian presidency and the Zagreb Summit in May.
