FM meets with UNICEF representative in Croatia

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 31 May 2019 received the newly appointed UNICEF Representative in Croatia, Regina Maria Castillo.

The two officials underlined the very good cooperation between the Croatian Government and the UNICEF Office.

Pejčinović Burić and Castillo discussed further implementation of the five-year program of cooperation between the Croatian Government and the UNICEF for the advancement of children’s rights in Croatia and helping children across the globe. The UNICEF applauded in particular the Croatian Government’s aid to Syrian child refugees in Jordan and the continued cooperation in this area.

The talks also focused on Croatia’s upcoming Council of the EU presidency as well as cooperation with the UNICEF in the promotion and protection of child and youth rights during the presidency.
