FM meets with Croatian MEPs

Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman 22 November 2019 held a meeting with Croatian Members of the European Parliament. Able to respond to the invitation were Dubravka Šuica, Željana Zovko, Karlo Ressler, Tomislav Sokol and Valter Flego.

The MEPs reflected on the matters they deal with within the EP depending of which committee or delegation they are members of. They underscored the importance of positive communication and bringing the EU closer to the citizens. As the Vice-President-designate for Democracy and Demography of the European Commission, Dubravka Šuica outlined the new Commission’s priorities, which are aligned with the Council’s Strategic Programme, notably in regard to demographic challenges.

In light of Croatia’s upcoming EU presidency, Grlić Radman underlined the importance Croatia attached to constructive cooperation with the EU. We have also recognized the importance of utilizing the processes within the EP to promote the common goals and interests of Croatia and its citizens. The collocutors underscored willingness to maintain regular exchange of views.
