FM holds talks with Bundestag’s EU Committee chair

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 19 June 2019 met with the Chairman of the German Bundestag’s Committee on European Union Affairs, Gunther Krichbaum.

The two officials expressed satisfaction with the traditionally good, friendly and partner relations between Croatia and Germany, further advanced by a cooperation action plan signed in March 2019.

Apart from bilateral topics, Pejčinović Burić and Krichbaum discussed topical European matters such as the results of the European Parliament elections, MFF, Europe 2020, and Croatia’s preparations for the Schengen Area.

They also talked about Croatia’s preparations for the Council of the EU presidency and cooperation in this area, given that Germany is set to take over the presidency in the second half of 2020.
