As the envoy of the Croatian prime minister, Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman is attending the 74th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 74) in New York. This year, the Croatian delegation is led by President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović.
The first day of the session the Assembly adopted the Declaration on Universal Health Coverage, which underlines that healthcare is not just a noble idea or a privilege, but the responsibility of all UN member states.
Addressing the meeting, Grlić Radman underscored that Croatia had a long healthcare tradition, beginning with Andrija Štampar, one of the founders of the World Health Organization. Throughout his life Štampar pushed for a healthcare system that leaves no one out. His principles are included today in the 2030 Agenda.
Grlić Radman held bilateral talks with the foreign ministers of Norway, Andorra and the United Arab Emirates. Along with Grabar Kitarović, he participated in meetings with the presidents of Latvia and Kosovo, a meeting with the UN secretary-general, as well as an event on religious freedom organized by the US.
The foreign minister also attended a debate on sustainable development organized by the World Economic Forum as well as the Climate Summit.
