Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 10 July 2019 received the outgoing Belgian ambassador to Croatia, Philippe Benoit.

The two officials underscored good bilateral relations between Croatia and Belgium, expressing the desire for their further strengthening, notably in terms of economic cooperation. Special attention was attached to Croatia’s upcoming Council of the EU chairmanship. In that regard, Pejčinović Burić and Benoit discussed the possibility of co-organizing a seminar in Zagreb at which EU member states’ representatives could share the Council of the EU chairmanship experiences, with an emphasis on its political importance, with the aim of promoting Croatia’s chairmanship.
