Dražen Vukov Colić, Croatian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Bulgaria, handed his credentials to Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov

After the handing of the credentials, President Parvanov asked the Croatian Ambassador to send his greetings to Croatian President Stjepan Mesić. President Parvanov said that Bulgaria is willing to help Croatia on its road to the EU and that he advocates an open door policy as regards Croatia’s joining NATO, adding that he is pleased with his recent visit to Croatia, which is a proof of the good relations between the two countries and points to the continuity of their further growth. Bulgaria is willing to offer expert advice in the process of Croatia’s accession to the EU.

Ambassador Vukov Colić thanked the Bulgarian President and said that Bulgaria is an example that should be followed, congratulating him on Bulgaria’s NATO membership, successful OSCE presidency and the end of the negotiations with the EU. Ambassador Vukov Colić said that he hopes Bulgaria will share with Croatia its experience in negotiating with the EU and NATO. He pointed out that the development of bilateral relations is a motivation for intensifying the efforts for the continuation of the overall co-operation and even better relations between Croatia and Bulgaria.
