The collocutors described the bilateral relations as excellent and traditionally friendly, expressing satisfaction over the intensive contacts between the two countries’ high officials. In regard to the military cooperation, they agreed that this segment of the bilateral relations should be intensified.

Minister Jandroković thanked the Slovakian government for supporting Croatia’s concluding the accession negotiations as soon as possible and becoming a full-fledged EU member. He informed his guest about the actualities regarding Croatia’s EU accession negotiations.

Minister Galko reconfirmed Slovakia’s full support for Croatia’s EU membership and agreed with Minister Jandroković that Croatia was nearing the completion of the negotiation process.

The ministers also discussed the two countries’ cooperation within NATO and its enlargement to the Southeast European countries, agreeing that that would contribute to the security and stability of the region as a whole.

They also talked about the current political events in the countries of the region, as well as the situation in Afghanistan, Libya and the Middle East. Minister Jandroković expressed gratitude for Slovakia’s engagement in the region, concurring with Minister Galko that all outstanding issues could be resolved through dialogue.
