The officials expressed satisfaction with the two countries’ excellent and friendly relations that show vast potential for advancing the cooperation, pointing out the joint Croatian-Bulgarian foreign policy activities, such as the joint recognition of Kosovo in 2008, as well as this year’s joint recognition of the National transitional Council as the legitimate representation on the Libyan people and the legitimate authority in Libya.

Thanking Sirakov for his personal engagement in strengthening the bilateral relations between Croatia and Bulgaria, Jandroković once again expressed gratitude to Bulgaria for its continuous and unconditional support for Croatia along its road to full-fledged EU membership.

Ambassador Sirakov congratulated the Croatian government on closing the accession negotiations with the EU and applauded the progress achieved by conducting the all-encompassing reforms. He also said he was glad Croatia would become a member of the EU, expressing belief that Bulgaria would be among the first to ratify Croatia’s accession treaty.
