Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gordan Jandroković met with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov

The collocutors agreed that the bilateral relations were good and unburdened by outstanding issues

The collocutors agreed that the bilateral relations were good and unburdened by outstanding issues. Minister Jandroković expressed conviction that the recently opened resident Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Croatia would further strengthen the bilateral relations on all levels. In that regard, he said he hoped that the procedure of appointing the honorary consul of the Republic of Croatia to Baku would soon be completed.

As a future member of the EU, Croatia intents to actively participate in the European Neighbourhood Policy and Eastern Partnership, the participant of which is Azerbaijan as well. As part of that, Croatia can share its experiences with the European integration process, said Minister Jandroković.

He also pointed out that Croatia wished to intensify the economic cooperation with Azerbaijan, especially in oil and gas industry, infrastructural projects and shipbuilding. For the purposes of setting up a legal framework for that type of cooperation, the collocutors emphasized the need to sign a number economic agreements as soon as possible.
