The collocutors expressed satisfaction with the two countries’ friendly relations, augmented by frequent meeting between the Croatian and Macedonian officials. Minister Jandroković recalled the last week’s meeting with Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki during his official visit to the Republic of Croatia.

He pointed out that the closure of Croatia’s accession negotiations sends a positive message to the countries of South Eastern Europe that, once the necessary are conducted and the criteria met, the EU membership is achievable. In that regard, he reiterated Croatia’s support for Macedonia, as well as the rest of the region, in their joining the Euro-Atlantic integration, considering it a guarantee of lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the area.

Deputy Prime Minister Arifi thanked Croatia for its technical and expert assistance, expressing interest in continuing the transfer of Croatia’s experiences from the Euro-Atlantic process.
