EBRD Vice President Fischer congratulated Croatia on today’s statement by the European Commission on concluding Croatia’s negotiations and setting the indicative accession date. He also commended the Croatian government’s reforms and achievements during the negotiation process.

The collocutors expressed satisfaction with the long-standing and successful cooperation between Croatia and the EBRD, saying they were convinced it would continue, especially within the 2010-2013 strategy for Croatia. Said strategy encompasses cooperation priorities in entrepreneurship, infrastructure, environmental protection, energy, and financial activities. Minister Jandroković pointed out that the EBRD had thus far granted 2.2 billion € worth of loans for 130 projects in Croatia.

The meeting also discussed the previous year’s XIX annual session of the EBRD held in Zagreb, saying it had been an important opportunity for promoting economic potential and business possibilities in Croatia and the region.

The collocutors also talked about the situation in South Eastern Europe, agreeing on the importance of the Euro-Atlantic integration of all of its countries for achieving full stability of that area.

EBRD Vice President Fischer announced his attendance of this year’s Croatia Summit in Dubrovnik.
