In his lecture, the minister presented the Croatian Government’s activities regarding Croatia’s EU accession

In his lecture, the minister presented the Croatian Government’s activities regarding Croatia’s EU accession. He pointed out as priority issues the closure of the negotiations in the first half of this year and signing the Accession Treaty in the fall.

It is encouraging to receive such strong support from the European partners as well as Hungary, which has included in its presidency priorities the completion of Croatia’s negotiation process, said Minister Jandroković, adding that for the completion of these goals such encouraging signals from all of Croatia’s partners were more than welcome.

He pointed out that the Croatian Government paid special attention to legal harmonization and the restructuring of Croatia’s shipbuilding industry. He also spoke about the judicial and public administration reforms, as well as the fight against corruption, and emphasized Croatia’s dedication to the full cooperation with the ICTY.

He informed the attendees about the Government’s economic recovery program and the implementation of the necessary institutional, social and structural reforms in order to achieve economic growth and strengthen the competitiveness, adding that those initiatives would also facilitate foreign investment and make it easier for foreign companies to enter the Croatian market. In that regard, he presented the Government’s public sector investment package, as well as the possibilities of investing in Croatia.

The minister also touched on the current situation in South Eastern Europe, listing concrete examples of Croatia’s assistance to the countries in the region along their Euro-Atlantic path. He also talked about Croatia’s contribution to ISAF.
