The Committee is currently dealing with profiling the countries with terrorism-combating capacities, the exchange of information on compensating the terrorism victims, faultfinding in the international law and antiterrorist activities, and monitoring the process of signing and ratification of the relevant antiterrorism conventions, namely the CoE Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism.

At yesterday’s meeting of the CoE, Sweden handed the six-month presidency over to Spain. Presenting the priorities, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos announced that in Spring-2009, Spain will hold the first meeting of the signatories of the Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism, which will place a stronger emphasis on the importance of antiterrorism.
