Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 19 March opened the 5th United Nations Academy, a special educational programme traditionally organized by the Croatian UN Association and the MFEA Diplomatic Academy

Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 19 March opened the 5^th United Nations Academy, a special educational programme traditionally organized by the Croatian UN Association and the MFEA Diplomatic Academy.

The programme is being attended by 34 younger public and private sector employees as well as post-graduate students elected through a public competition among more than 200 candidates. A series of 10 lectures will familiarize them with the fundamentals of the UN system, the decision-making process, role of the UN in solving crucial global issues, as well as relations between the UN, other international organizations and governments of the member states. The general part of the programme outlines the basic structure and bodies of the UN, while a special series of topic-related lectures this year deals with the UN-EU relations.

The lectures are the leading Croatian international relations experts with a rich background in working with the UN, namely from the MFEA and other state administration bodies, the academic community and international organizations in the Republic of Croatia.
