Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović met with the Secretary of State for EU Affairs at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Enikö Györi

Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović met with the Secretary of State for EU Affairs at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Enikö Györi. The two officials expressed satisfaction with the excellent and friendly relations between the two countries, emphasizing continued cooperation within the EU institutions and prospects of strengthening the bilateral economic cooperation. Croatia and Hungary are neighbouring countries that share many of the goals in terms of foreign and economic policy. In that context, the two officials discussed the possibilities of even better transport links, both road and railway, and implementing additional cross-border projects aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens on either side of the border. Klisović and Györi also talked about the prospects of cooperation in energy projects, in light of supply route diversification and energy security strengthening in Southeast Europe.

Secretary of State Győri was also received by Assistant Minister Hrvoje Marušić, who thanked Hungary for the support it had been extending to Croatia during its EU accession. The talks focused on the EU enlargement towards Southeast Europe and the importance of intensive cooperation within the Visegrad Group (V4+), as well as how the two countries coordinated EU affairs. The meeting confirmed the intent to continue the cooperation within the EU on policies of mutual interests.
