On 23 May the Deputy MFA Dr. Ivan Šimonović was on an official visit to Switzerland where he was received by Mr. Yves Christen, President of the National Council and the Federal Assembly of the Swiss Confederation. He also had formal talks with the State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Mr. Franz von Däniken.
Dr. Šimonović and Mr. Christen exchanged views on future relations between the two countries, including the economic ones, with emphasis on tourism and Swiss investments in Croatia.
In his talks with the State Secretary Mr. Franz von Däniken, the main topic was the current status of bilateral relations and the situation in the Southeast of Europe. Multilateral issues were also discussed, including the role of the United Nations in the international order and the relations of the two countries with the European Union.
