Croatian seaman freed

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs confirms that the Croatian seaman kidnapped in Nigerian territorial waters aboard the cargo ship Glarus has been freed

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs confirms that the Croatian seaman kidnapped in Nigerian territorial waters aboard the cargo ship Glarus has been freed. Together with his 11 co-workers, he landed this morning at Zurich international airport.

The crew of the Swiss-owned Glarus were kidnapped over a month ago by Nigerian pirates.

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has intensively cooperated through Croatia’s embassy in Bern with the Swiss authorities in resolving the matter.
