Croatian MFA wishes to correct the inaccurate information published by today's Slobodna Dalmacija...

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia wishes to correct the inaccurate information published by today's Slobodna Dalmacija, in the article under the heading “UNICEF has rejected to appoint Ms. Dijana Pleština as its Ambassador” by Mr. Tomislav Klauški.

It is inaccurate that the Mission of the Republic of Croatia with the UN “had a task to strongly lobby” so that Ms. Dijana Pleština becomes Ambassador with the UNICEF. The author of this text has never made any contacts neither with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor with the Mission of the Republic of Croatia with the UN on this topic. It is not clear why journalist Tomislav Klauški issues such unfounded and inaccurate information thereby affecting the reputation of Ms. Dijana Pleština and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If the author of the text had wished to obtain true information on this case, he could have contacted directly the seat of the UNCEF in Paris.

Despite the fact that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the information that Ms. Diana Pleština pays in all of her salary to the International Trust Fund (with a seat in Ljubljana), which returns to the Republic of Croatia in a double way (the USA pays 1 dollar for every dollar paid in), Mr. Tomislav Klauški does not seem or does not wish to understand this and continues to claim that Ms. Dijana Pleština earned 190,463 kunas that “she did not have to invest in any fund whatsoever.”
