Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul met today, 7 May 2004, in the Hague, with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Bernard Bot
Both ministers agreed that there are no open issues between the two countries and that there is a real possibility for mutual relations to reach the highest level. Dutch Minister Bot congratulated Croatia and Minister Žužul on getting the positive Opinion from the European Commission and on the significant progress Croatia has achieved in approaching the Euro-Atlantic Integrations, pointing out that the Netherlands fully supports Croatia’s efforts in approaching the EU and NATO and will continue to offer its assistance in satisfying the membership criteria. Minister Bot accepted Minister Žužul’s invitation to visit Croatia and urged for regular meetings and the exchange of opinions between the two ministers and experts from their respective ministries. Ministers Žužul and Bot exchanged information and discussed the situation in the region.
The same day, Minister Žužul visited the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and met with Director General Rogelio Pfirter. During the talks, they expressed their satisfaction with the co-operation and mutual understanding.
Minister Žužul flew today afternoon to Vienna where he will, along with Erhard Busek, deliver a speech at the seminar about the European policy on the subject: “Future candidates for the EU enlargement.”
