Croatian Ambassador Željko Vukosav handed credentials to President of Cape Verde Pedro Pires

Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Portuguese Republic Željko Vukosav handed on 23 January 2008 in Praia his credentials to the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, Pedro Pires, officially assuming the duty of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Cape Verde, seated in Lisbon

In the meeting with President Pires, Ambassador Vukosav pointed out that at the moment when Cape Verde has signed a special partnership agreement with the EU and Croatia is on its way towards full EU and NATO membership, new co-operation possibilities are opening for these tow friendly countries in areas of legislature, maritime affairs, transport, environmental protection, and especially tourism. Ambassador Vukosav reiterated the invitation for President Pires to visit Croatia in 2008, which he gladly accepted. Ambassador Vukosav also took the opportunity to thank Cape Verde as the first Portuguese-speaking African country to recognise the Republic of Croatia.

During his visit to the Republic of Cape Verde, Ambassador Vukosav also took part in the two-day meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions and international organisation representatives accredited to the Government of Cape Verde.
