Croatia welcomes normalization of situation in Egypt following Mubarak’s resignation

We believe that this historic step represents the answer to the legitimate demands of the Egyptian citizens

We believe that this historic step represents the answer to the legitimate demands of the Egyptian citizens for the strengthening of democracy, and that the process of constitutional changes will therefore begin with no delay.

We expect of the Egyptian armed forces to ensure, in accordance with the citizens’ will, a peaceful transition so that the free democratic elections could be held as soon as possible.

The Republic of Croatia also hopes that the new democratic government of Egypt will continue with the constructive role Egypt plays in the international efforts to achieve stable peace in the Middle East, especially in seeking a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
