Croatia is keeping close contact with the allies through European, NATO and UN forums to obtain all the relevant information regarding the situation in Syria.

We strongly support the efforts to pass a UN Security Council resolution and await a report by the UN investigation team on the use of chemical weapons in the 21 August brutal attack near Damascus.

We reiterate once again that the use of chemical weapons is completely unacceptable and those responsible should be sanctioned.

Croatia considers that the engagement of all permanent Security Council members in seeking a political solution is crucial for solving the crisis in which more than 100,000 people lost their lives and more than 1.5 million are refugees.
