Croatia signs Optional Protocol to Child Rights Convention

The Republic of Croatia 27 December 2013 in New York signed the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on communications procedure.

The Protocol was adopted 19 December 2011 during the UN General Assembly and was signed by 45 member states, including Croatia. Croatia is the 15th EU member state to sign the Protocol.

The Protocol was signed on behalf of Croatia by Vladimir Drobnjak, Croatia’s Permanent Representative to the UN.

The Protocol will come into force three months after it was ratified by 10 member states. So far, nine member states have ratified it.
