Croatia joins the Statement by the European Union’s Presidency expressing concern over the recent scrapping of the National Unification Council and its Guidelines by Taiwan’s leader Chen Shui-bian, which does not contribute to the peace and stability in the region

Having signed the Protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations with China in 1992, Croatia accepts Taiwan as a constituent part of the People’s Republic of China.

The Republic of Croatia joins the Statement that invited both sides to a dialogue, co-operation, and mutual building of trust, and to maintain the status quo.
