The Republic of Croatia harshly and unequivocally condemns the car bomb attack on the French embassy in Libya that wounded two security guards. Attacks on civilians are an unacceptable way of attaining political goals. Croatia expresses wholehearted support for the Libyan people and authorities in fighting terrorism and extremism.

Croatia supports the efforts of the international community and the new Libyan transitional government to achieve peace throughout the country, establish law and order and ease the security situation so that the transition towards a democratic society could continue and to avoid a possible escalation of unrest with devastating effects on the wider region.
