Croatia, Greece continue to advance excellent cooperation

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Tuesday met with his Greek counterpart George Gerapetritis.
 
The meeting confirmed the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and their cooperation within various international forums, including the European Union, NATO, MED9, the Three Seas Initiative, the Quadrilateral, as well as the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) and the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, of which Greece will assume the presidency from Croatia in May of this year.
 
Discussions emphasized the alignment of the two countries’ positions regarding the importance of stability and security in Southeast Europe and support for the European path of Western Balkan countries. Grlić Radman particularly emphasized the importance of opening accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina based on achieved reforms, which will strengthen the European Union’s positioning in the region.
 
The ministers also addressed the situation in the Middle East, underscoring the importance of efforts to de-escalate the situation and prevent further spread of regional instability. They also emphasized the importance of continuing strong support for Ukraine in light of Russian aggression.
 
At the end of the meeting, Grlić Radman emphasized that the relations between Croatia and Greece are excellent, open, and friendly, with great potential for further strengthening.
