Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Friday held a videoconference with Chilean Foreign Minister Antonia Urrejola.

The meeting took place in a year when Croatia and Chile mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, and soon after Urrejola assumed office as a member of the government of the new Chilean president Gabriel Borić, who is of Croatian descent.

Grlić Radman and Urrejola agreed that the meeting reaffirmed the traditional friendship and excellent bilateral relations between Croatia and Chile, abetted by the large Croatian community in Chile.

The two ministers also exchanged views on the bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest. They condemned the Russian aggression against Ukraine, stressing that the war needed to be stopped immediately and refugees be allowed a safe return to Ukraine. In addition, Grlić Radman and Urrejola underscored readiness to continue cooperating in areas of mutual interest, notably economy.
