Croatia and Lithuania agree on continued support to Ukraine
The two ministers discussed friendly relations between Croatia and Lithuania, which are marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. They strongly condemned the sham referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine as well as Russia’s decision to annex them illegally, underlining the importance of maintaining unity and solidarity in dealing with energy issues and boosting the EU’s overall strategic resilience.
In addition, Grlić Radman and Landsbergis exchanged views on the situation in the Western Balkans, agreeing that it was crucial to maintain stability and stimulate the continuation of reforms. “The Western Balkan countries have to show results in terms of good neighbourly relations and harmonising their policies with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy. I have informed my colleague Landsbergis about Croatia’s position regarding the recent elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Grlić Radman said.
The two ministers also discussed the additional advancement of economic cooperation, with Grlić Radman thanking Lithuania for its strong support to Croatia’s joining the eurozone, the OECD and the Schengen Area.
During his visit to Lithuania, Grlić Radman also met with Seimas Speaker Viktorija Čmilyte-Nielsen and Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas.
